Thee Fuzz Warr Overload: Max tone from Thee Oh Sees & Death by Audio

January 09, 2015

Always on the lookout for new ways to melt faces and take no prisoners,John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees teamed up with Death by Audio (run by Oliver Ackermann of A Place to Bury Strangers) to create a custom pedal based on his ideal fuzz tone. After more than a year of testing on the road and in the recording studio (the band’s latest, Floating Coffin, features the pedal), the outcome is Thee Fuzz Warr Overload, which has the standard gain, level, and tone knobs as well as a treble boost to wreak a little more havoc.

Only 500 pedals will be created, and pre-orders are being taken now at theDeath by Audio web store for shipping on June 30. Dwyer and DBA also put together a short promo clip to show the pedal in action, wherein Dwyer reaches out to a much younger demographic with…explosive results.
