Cider surge: Stella Artois finally shares hard apple brew with USA

Sometimes you just don’t want beer. Luckily, for fans of Stella Artois who are in a fruitier mood, the Belgian brewer is introducing a new hard cider into the US market, starting with 26 states yesterday and extending nationwide next year.

Stella Artois Cidre, which is a European-style apple cider, is apparently drier than American varieties, which should make it easier to pair with a meal — or, as the Stella website recommends, “a semi-hard cheese like Manchego, a Waldorf salad, or fresh Belgian endives.”
