Jewish prog rock and sonic vertigo: Stream Les Rhinocéros’ new album

January 08, 2015

Les Rhinocéros: II (Tzadik, 5/21/13)

On its second full-length release, Les Rhinocéros draws together an innumerable amount of influences to create an album whose complexity is often simultaneously inspiring and head-spinning. With a stunning arsenal of sounds, clips of spoken word, and electronic flourishes, the album is nearly unthinkable as a creation of a power trio.

That variety and interplay between tracks pushes a narrative feel through every passage’s beginning, middle, and end. You can stream all of Les Rhinocéros II below, but be warned: you might leave with sonic vertigo and the sudden urge to score a film.
